The name Minjimandan is anishinaabe and it means "remember it".  This colt was born right after the announcement of a mass grave of 215 innocent indigenous children was located near Kamloops.  We named him this because the children must be remembered.  The evil of the residential schools and the attempted genocide of the indigenous peoples of Canada must be remembered.  We must acknowledge the truth to heal the past and move forward into a better future. We call this little boy Jem and he is one.
