The name Osjki-aya'aa is an Anishinaabe name meaning "she is new".  She was a surprise as we suspected that her dam was not in foal.  We had one filly, also a red dun, born about a week before Kiaya'aa and we thought we were seeing double.  I literally said, "wait, she's is new!"  At first I thought Firebolt (Red Spirit) was trying to steal the other mares foal.  We call her Kiaya'aa (Kaya).

She is a shy and demure little girl who stays close to her momma.
